FINDING A PERSONAL TRAINER

Choosing a good personal trainer can be tough, after all, you are likely to be investing a lot in the chosen one. You want to be sure they are knowledgeable, personable and passionate. Great personal trainers know how the bodies mechanics work and more importantly how to coach and communicate those movements into a progressive and structured training program. These assets are the prerequisites of a good personal trainer before the experience is earned.

Start by googling personal trainers in your local area, such as personal trainers St Johns Wood or personal trainers in Marylebone and see who comes up. Read if they have they written anything on something that resonates with you. Remember the most important thing to look for is results rather than how many followers they have on social media or what their google rankings are. Contemplate how they present themselves on their social media page are they all about themselves or their clients? Do they seem to provide their clients with the service you need and beyond?

Look for someone who practices what they preach in the gym. They don’t have to be shredded, top personal trainers will have a lot of clients consequently working very long hours but they should be an inspiration to you. Training hard is essential so if they cant train hard them selfs how can they motivate you too?

Think about what your goals are. If your goal is fat loss or muscle gain seek out personal trainers who have coached their clients to lose body fat or gain muscle.

Be careful of the term “celebrity trainer”. These trainers will often just be training celebrities for free as it gives them a marketing tool. Be wary of celebrity trainers, as often they have expensive price tags and nothing more than a business built around that celebs name. Do you’re home work and ask for an initial consultation. Ensure the personal trainer is someone you can get on with, someone who can communicate clearly with you and guide you to results.
